MECC brings the nation's favorite education software program to the Internet! Your students can join an Internet wagon train where they collaborate with other classrooms to re-create an amazing journey across our country.

Each day, students receive an update of their travel progress and are presented with a new decision-making situation.

Wagons and wagon trains receive scores based on the quality of their decisions. The class with the highest score at the end of the trail wins a handsome trophy!

Teachers receive a guide to both on-line and off-line activities and suggestions for interdisciplinary links to language arts, science, and math.

Oregon Trail Online includes over one hundred on-line activities that are designed to correspond to daily destinations along the trail.

Classes share their ideas and experiences as part of a collaborative learning environment.

Trail experts host live "chat sessions" and help students better understand life in the 1800s.

The Oregon Trail Online Classroom Kit includes

- Seven weeks of daily on-line programming

- One teacher's manual

- Subscriber-only programming for one Internet e-mail address

- Subscriber-only access to the project's website for one classroom

- Poster size map of The Oregon Trail
